HISTORY

First Bank & Trust Company was originally chartered in 1883 to be a full-service community bank. The current ownership purchased the bank in 1966 with its office in Cozad, Neb. The ownership group comes from solid Midwest values, where we care about our customers and our handshake is our word, and our goal is excellence.

The bank opened a full-service branch in Clay Center, NE, in 1996. In the fall of 2002 we opened a branch in Colorado Springs, CO, named Mountain View Bank. In the fall of 2004 we added a branch at Eustis, NE. In 2007, First State Bank of Imperial, NE, was added as a branch and it changed it's name to First Bank & Trust Company in 2008.
